Kentucky Introduces 2 New Divisions

Kentucky Introduces 2 New Divisions

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Little River Division will be hosted by Tim Mills. Tournaments will be coming out of the Lake Barkley State Resort ramp. This Division is located on the Eastern shore of Lake Barkley about half way up the lake.

Tim picked this ramp because of its excellent launch facilities. Or maybe because it has a good restaurant? Or maybe because it is not too far from his home?
Well, whatever, I’ll let you decide after you get to meet Tim. Tim recently discovered that he had found his mind. Shortly thereafter, he left those “toothy critters” and “hard water” in the rear view mirror. Now that he has come to his senses and found warmer climes he also discovered that by golly there’s something to this bass fishin. He fished the KY-09 Division last summer.

Qualified for the Regional on Old Hickory and qualified for the Classic. Tim is now semi-retired. He lives in Hopkinsville. I’ll let him tell you about his family as he chooses. Tim is well organized, a quick study, adaptive and friendly as all get out. You will enjoy working and fishing with him in his new Division. Just give him a little slack as this is his first year and he will be well into his first tournament before he really realizes how much work he is going to be doing for all of you.

Ken-Bar The Next Generation Division will be hosted by Johnny Lancaster. Johnny also fished the KY-09 Division last season. Qualifying for the Regional, he also then qualified for the Classic. He has a youngster in the family that he fishes with and so chose to form a Division in the new Next Generation Trail. Johnny is a policeman and a heck of a good fisherman. He is already experienced as a tournament director. He has been doing an evening tournament on the south end of Lake Barkley for a couple of years. His tournaments will be for the youngsters fishing with an adult sponsor only.

Johnny will have a couple of tournaments off the ramp at the Ken-Bar State Resort Park and three off the ramp at Kuttawa/Lyon County. This is a great opportunity for you to get your grandchild, niece or nephew or just a child down the street introduced to fishing and outdoor conservation. You will find Johnny full of patience, lots of fishing wisdom and a wholesome desire to share it with youngsters.

Check out the web site for dates and times for these new Divisions.

Hope to see you on the water.
Willie Edmonds, Jr.
Regional Director
