2020 Season Updates

2020 Season Updates

Wednesday, May 06, 2020

President Donald Trump has given the power to “Open the Country” to the Governors of each state. This means that tournaments in some states are getting closer to starting back up, but they will be held with caution and some additional steps.

Things to Know Before You Go:

We are aware that some ramps are still closed. Please check the website and contact the director of the tournament you’re wanting to fish to ensure it has not been canceled.

Please take a look at the following guidelines and be sure to contact your director with any questions.

Guidelines for the Remainder of the Season:

Morning Registration:

  1. Pay your membership online.

  2. If possible, please pre-register with the director of the tournament.

    1. If unable to pre-register, anglers must stay six feet apart from each other and only one angler from each team may come to registration.

  3. Anglers must wear a mask during registration.

 Pre-tournament Meeting

  1. The Pre-Tournament Meeting will be conducted with all the teams in their boats on the water before take-off.

Weigh-in:

  1. Anglers must be wearing a mask over their face during the weigh-in.

  2. Only one person from each team may bring their fish to the weigh-in.

  3. Only four anglers are allowed in line at a time all standing at least six feet apart.

  4. After you have weighed in:

    1. Please return to your boat or vehicle to wait for the final results.

    2. If you are not in the money, we asked that you head home at this time.

    3. Anglers will not be permitted to hang out around the weigh-in station.

2020 Point System and Qualifications:

With the break in tournaments over the past couple of months, the points system has been modified. Last year, we had 1,909 teams with 250 points or more, 133 teams with 1,000 or more points, and 33 teams with 1,500 or more points. We are dropping that point system for this season.

New Points System:

  • Regional Requirements:

    • Finish the 2020 season in the Top 2,000 in the National Points Standings.

    • All teams that have acquired 250 points or more may enter a Regional Event.

      • If you don’t have 250 points you will need to wait until the end of the 2020 season to see if you’re in the top 2,000 in the National Points Standings before you may enter a Regional Event.

  • Lucas Oil Tournament of Champions Requirements:

    • Finish the 2020 season in the Top 200 in the National Points Standings.

    • Be the Divisional Champion of any USA BASSIN Division.

    • Catch the Biggest Bass in your Division

    • Finish in the top 3 or catch the Biggest Bass at a Regional event.

    • Finish in the top 3 or catch the Biggest Bass at a Lucas Oil Open Event

  • B.A.S.S. Team Championship Requirements:

    • Teams that finish in the Top 100 in the National Points Standings will be eligible to compete for the free entry into the B.A.S.S. Team Championship Tournament.

    • Fished during the Lucas Oil Tournament of Champions.

National Points can be found on the right side of USA BASSIN Home Page, about halfway down the page. http://www.usabassin.com/modules.php?name=Standings&trailID=1

Working together, I know we can still make this season work!

Thanks,
