Renegade / Prowler Regional

Renegade / Prowler Regional

Thursday, September 29, 2022

The Renegade / Prowler Regional was held on Rough River out of the Rough River State Park Ramp. The event featured a guaranteed first-place prize of $5,000 and was won by Michael McMahan and his grandfather Ronnie McMahan. They had a limit weighing 15.52lbs, which included a big bass of 5.68lbs.

The team was thrilled to pull off the victory after a phenomenal day on the water. "It was a long time coming," said Michael. "We got bit on our first cast, had our first keeper right after that and were culling by 8:30. It was a blessed day and we caught fish at every spot during the day."

The duo primarily fished finesse baits, working areas where flats dropped into deep water. Their big bass came around noon and they had a feeling that pushed them over the edge. "Everyone was saying 12lbs would be good and we had 13lbs at the time," said Michael. "Then we got the big one and knew we had a good chance to win it."
