Latest News West Virginia Regional Tuesday, October 18, 2022 The West Virginia Regional was held on Sutton on October 8th and featured a guaranteed first-place prize of $1,000. Knowing the fishing would be tough, the winning team of Eric Gregory and Clinton Hudkins decided to make a run up the river. This proved to be the winning way as they were able to catch a 12.36lb limit that included the tournament's big bass, a 3.99lb fish. "Looking at the recent tournaments and knowing they dropped the lake, we decided to run up and fish the rivers," said Gregory. "We caught one early on a jerkbait but it wasn't until around noon when we caught our second fish." They moved to a shallow grass flat in the Elk and were able to catch some more keepers with a squarebill crankbait. "Around 2:00, I caught our big one on a swim jig," he said. "We had a pretty good feeling that we had enough for the win then, but you never know for sure." Congrats to the winning team and all of the top finishers! Top 5
