Latest News Tim Burton and Randy Dorton Win Monroe Night Division!![]() Saturday, September 03, 2011 Despite the high water early in the year Bassin’ anglers managed to catch record numbers of bass on the lake. 18’ above normal pool during the first of the season and high waters remained above normal for over a month. Several local anglers feel the continued high water each year has attributed to a loss of weeds in the lake. However, many also believe the hatch has been better for past few years because of high water on the lake.
Lake Monroe at night can be an exciting place to bass fish when all recreational boaters retire for the evening. Tim Burton and Randy Dorton made the 2011 night division exciting when they won two of the five division tournament for the year. The team finished no lower than third in any bassin’ Monroe night tournament. Burton and Dorton finished ten points ahead of Tash Collier and Josh Collier to win the division championship.
The two also caught over 58lbs of bass during the year for a divisional record of the highest winning season weight recorded by Bassin’. The Team weighted the season’s biggest bass with a 5.87 largemouth. Director Rick would like to thank everyone who fished Bassin night on Monroe this year.
