Hoo-Rag

Hoo-Rag

Sunday, July 21, 2013

As it just so happens we are back in July with the hottest days of the season bearing down on the USA Bassin tournament trail. The sun is undoubtedly the biggest threat to anglers out on the water. Common sunburns can start in as little as 15 minutes, don't forget to factor in the fact that the suns rays are magnified by the reflection off of the water giving anglers a double dose. A sunburn can cause general fatigue as well as mild dizziness, which are things that cause anglers to make poor decisions out on the water.

Taking lessons from Saltwater anglers the world of bass fishing is beginning to catch on. Taking extra steps to cover up out on the water can lead to a clearer thought process and better decision making. What does this mean? It means putting more fish in the boat and not being in pain for the next 2 days. Lots of anglers today tend to not use sunscreen as they are fearful of the lotion coming into contact with their equipment and lures.

Is it so hard to believe that something as simple as a fifteen dollar Hoo-Rag can save you from long term effects from the sun? Absolutely not! I have personally taken the challenge to heart rocking the Hoo-Rag when ever I am out on the water. At first it takes a little time to become used to wearing the Hoo and it will for most anglers. The more I continued to wear the product the more it became part of my fishing. With that in mind it's safe to say that it has made a huge impact on my life as well as my fishing. Not being sore after a 8 hour tournament is such a great benefit for any angler. Anglers do not realize the number one reason they are tired after events is from the sun and sunburn.

There are a few different ways you can "Rock the Rag" out on the water. The top three ways that stand out for anglers are the Face Rag, Neck Rag and Balaclava Rag which can all be made out of your standard tubular Hoo-Rag. Check out this short video clip and learn all the different ways you can "Rock the Rag" http://youtu.be/Usiy2tr3FG4 .
