How did they start: The development of The Original Fish Formula was no accident. For many years, a Tennessee Doctor of Pharmacy had been fascinated by the incredible sense of smell in all wildlife, particularly fish. He knew from trial and error fishing that certain odors – like human sweat and gasoline – repel fish, and he also knew that commercial fishermen had used various odorant concoctions to entice catfish to their trotlines for many generations. It just seemed logical to assume that if fish were repelled by certain odors, they surely must be attracted by others. If catfish could “follow their noses” to choice feeding grounds, why not all fish! The Doctor wrestled with these questions for many years and he spent every available minute mixing and testing literally thousands of synthetic and natural ingredients he could think of. And then, in the Fall of 1980, he found a combination that really worked! During the next full year, his discovery was tested by a staff of well-known fishermen on a variety of species. They pitted the “Formula” against fishermen using lures without it. They sprayed live baits and fished them alongside fisherman using the same baits, but without “the juice.” All the results were positive and The Original Fish FormulaÒ was born.
