Latest News Southern Indiana Regional #1![]() Monday, September 16, 2013 As a result of the massive popularity of U.S.A. Bassin in Indiana, this year was the first year where two regional tournaments were held in Southern Indiana. "The state limits us to 178 teams and last year we had a full field and many more teams who wanted to get into the tournament, so we decided to hold two events. Teams who pre-registered had the option to fish both and we also had a buy in for those that decided they wanted to fish again," added National Director Kevin Yeary. The result was 149 teams on the first day and over 50 for Regional #2 with some teams deciding to fish both events. "It was slow fishing due to the time of year but we had a few good weights," added Yeary. The team of John Logue and JD Kyle took first place honors with a 16.39lb bag. Second Place was John Schroening and Charlie Hentrup who had a 13.77lb limit. "It was pretty tough out there, we only caught 6 keepers all day. We pimarily fished offshore between 10-20 feet," added Schroering. They caught fish all day on jigs and deep diving crankbaits. "It was pretty random when we would catch one," added the team. 3rd Place was Kelly Ingle and Keith Ingle who weighed in 13.73lbs. "It was real tough fishing, Patoka has been tough all year and I have a theory why. The increase in Walleye being stocked has really hurt the bass fishing in my opinion," added Kelly Ingle. The team caught their fish on black jigs and only managed to bring in four keepers. "We fished the 12 foot range to catch our fish," added Ingle. By: Tyler Brinks
