Nightfishion Classic - Barkley Lake

Nightfishion Classic - Barkley Lake

Monday, August 31, 2015

The Nightfishion Classic open team tournament featured over eighty teams vying for the guaranteed top prize of $10,000. The event was held on Barkley Lake and ran from 4:00pm-12:00am. The weights were big and several nice bass were brought to the scales.

Taking the top spot, and the $10,000 prize, was Matt Robertson and Jackie Anderson. The team weighed in 29.72lbs and had a big bass of 6.21lbs. Their big bass was only the third biggest bass of the event and all of their five fish weighed between 5.25lbs and 6.21lbs.

The winners made a long run to Kentucky Lake and estimated it took an hour and fifteen minutes to reach their spots. The best fishing was before it got dark and they focused on grass with a 10" Plum colored worm. They did cull two or three times after dark, but the majority of their 15 keepers came before the sun went down.

All of the top five teams had over 20lbs and the big bass of the night was a 7.03lb bass caught by the team of Mike Hardin and Brent Anderson.

  • 2nd - Brad Kell / Damon Brown 24.58lbs
  • 3rd - Billy Schroeder / Bill Schroeder 24.40lbs
  • 4th - Mike Hardin / Brent Anderson 23.39lbs
  • 5th - Craig Hipsher / Cory York 20.93lbs
