Latest News Lucas Oil Tournament Of Champions![]() Monday, May 09, 2016 The Lucas Oil Tournament Of Champions was held on Kentucky Lake on May 3rd and featured some big bass and big money prizes. Nearly 200 teams hit the water for their chance at the $10k top prize. Taking first was Kenny Heckel and Kevin Meunier who won the $10,000 and an extra $1,000 for running a Garmin. They were focusing on late spawning fish in the shallows and caught eight to ten keepers during the tournmanent. "We had four good ones, including a six pounder, and one smaller one. We got two early and two late in rhe day," said Meunier. They had a total of 22.91lbs. Second place was Philip Miller and Dustin Miller with a 22.28lb bag. "It was pretty slow and we didn't catch many fish, but they were good ones. We had seven bites and caught six of them," said Miller. They focused mostly on ledges and caught four smallmouth and a 7.23lb largemouth that won the big bass prize. They won $2,000 for second and an extra $500 for big bass. Third was Brian Dortch and Anthony Estedp with 21.06lbs. The team caught fish in deeper water, half way back in the creeks. "We caught maybe 20-25 keepers during the day and by dragging baits along the bottom," said Dortch. They won $1,000 for their finish. Top 10 Results
