Latest News WKDZ Country Bass Rodeo Friday, September 02, 2016 The WKDZ Country Bass Rodeo was held on Lake Barkley out of Lake Barkley Marina State Park Ramp. It featured a guaranteed $5,000 first place prize! Hunter Garrett and Marshall Russell took the top prize with a 22.11lb limit. The weights were close and all of the top three teams weighed limits over 21lbs. The winning team fishes Kentucky or Barkley Lake just about every weekend and made a 40 minute run from Barkley to Kentucky Lake to catch their winning fish. They caught nine keepers throughout the day and didn't have a fish until 9:00 or 9:30. "It started off slow, but then it was one here and one there," said Garrett. The team fished the river ledges and focused on brushpiles in 8-12 feet of water. A jig and crankbait did most of the damage, but they also caught one on topwater. Congrats top the top finishes and thank you to all of the teams for fishing this fun event.
