Latest News Ted's Aqua Marine Regional![]() Monday, October 03, 2016 The Ted's Aqua Marine Regional featured a unique format over three days of competiton at Geist Reservoir out of the Olio ramp. 66 teams fished the first day on Friday and the top seven advanced to the final day on Sunday. Those who didn't qualify on Friday had one more chance on Saturday and the top four made it to the final day. In total, 11 teams fished the Championship Day on Sunday for the $3,000 guaranteed first prize plus additional cash payouts. Taking the win was John Stafford and Barry Lux. They won by the slimmest of margins, .01 decided first and second place. The team had 13.69lbs and edged out Randy Flowers and Dennis Turpin who weighed 13.68. Stafford and Lux won the day for Saturday with over 14lbs and figured something out late in the day which helped them qualify for the final day and win the top honors. "We caught some big fish late Saturday dragging baits slowly in a few different areas. We rotated through those to get to the Championship day and then again on Sunday," said Stafford.
