Another Uncle Sam Bass Caught!

Another Uncle Sam Bass Caught!

Monday, October 10, 2016

It was just last week when Matt Hamilton caught the Uncle Sam Bass at the Ted's Aqua Marine Regional. Well, it happened again. Mitch Keeley caught a 3.46lb bass during the Kansas State Regional on El Dorado Lake.

For his lucky catch, he won $1,000 and it was a total surprise to him. He finished in third place while fishing with partner Jason Leiker. It was a good finish, but the extra $1,000 was a nice bonus. "We heard about the Uncle Sam Bass at the before the tournament but until they opened the envelope and announced the weight, we had no idea," said Keeley. They were totally shocked and Keeley added that "it is better to be lucky than good."

The $1,000 fish was caught flipping wood with a Berkley Havoc Pit Boss. Had they been running a Garmin or purchased something from USA Bassin prior to the event, the fish could have been worth even more.

Congrats Mitch!
