Latest News WKDZ Country Bass Rodeo![]() Sunday, August 27, 2017 The WKDZ Country Bass Rodeo was held on August 27th on Lake Barkley out of the Lake Barkley Marina State Park Ramp. The event featured a guaranteed $2,500 first place prize, a $1,500 second place prize and an additional $1,000 if someone matched the Uncle Sam Big Bass weight. The team of Eddie Myers and James Naylor took the top honors with a solid limit weighing 21.24lbs. They edged out the second place team who had 21.10lbs thanks to a few key culls in the last hours of the day, "It was an afternoon bite for our big fish," said Myers. "We culled three times in the last hour, including a 5.81lb fish." The team is very familiar with Barkley and Kentucky Lake and for this event they stuck to fishing Barkley and focused on stumps and logs in 8-10 feet of water. "I did catch a nice one on a spinnerbait early, but most of our fish came by fishing a Carolina-rig with a 10" worm," shared Myers. Congrats to all of the top finishers and thank you to everyone who attended. Also thanks to WKDZ for helping make this event possible.
