Latest News WKDZ Country Bass Rodeo Sunday, August 27, 2017 The WKDZ Country Bass Rodeo was held on August 27th on Lake Barkley out of the Lake Barkley Marina State Park Ramp. The event featured a guaranteed $2,500 first place prize, a $1,500 second place prize and an additional $1,000 if someone matched the Uncle Sam Big Bass weight. The team of Eddie Myers and James Naylor took the top honors with a solid limit weighing 21.24lbs. They edged out the second place team who had 21.10lbs thanks to a few key culls in the last hours of the day, "It was an afternoon bite for our big fish," said Myers. "We culled three times in the last hour, including a 5.81lb fish." The team is very familiar with Barkley and Kentucky Lake and for this event they stuck to fishing Barkley and focused on stumps and logs in 8-10 feet of water. "I did catch a nice one on a spinnerbait early, but most of our fish came by fishing a Carolina-rig with a 10" worm," shared Myers.
